A widely loved watermelon variety featuring sweet, firm, bright-red flesh with excellent flavor. The fruit is round to oval in shape, with a pale green background and distinctive dark green stripes. This vigorous vine produces multiple fruits, each weighing between 7–11kg when fully mature.
Signs of Ripeness:
Ground Spot – The underside of the melon, where it rests on the ground, should change from creamy white to a deep buttery yellow, indicating maturity.
Tendril – The tendril on the vine opposite the fruit stem is a key ripeness indicator. If green, the melon is unripe; if dried, brown, and withered, the fruit is mature.
Additional signs include webbing on the rind and a hollow sound when tapped, though these are less reliable.
